The GR 64.7 Series Trumpet Mouthpieces are available as a standard order with the GR Trudell rim . This rim is slightly wider and features a semi - flat contour. It has a slightly more cushioned feel than the Standard GR rim but with a bite that allows for precise articulations.
Originally a custom job for Johnny Trudell, these mouthpieces quickly became so popular that GR decided to add them to the line.

Johnny Trudell, a native of Detroit, began playing the trumpet at age 13 and today is respected as one of the finest trumpet players in the music industry. Johnny contributed significantly to the golden years of Motown Records from 1963 - 1972 by developing the Motown Brass Section and coordinating the arranging staff. As lead trumpet he recorded with such great artists as Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross, The Temptations, Four Tops, Smokey Robinson.
Johnny has also performed with the bands of Tommy Dorsey, Bob Crosby, Tex Beneke, Buddy Morrow, and Quincy Jones. Johnny has performed with Dizzy Gillespie, Jon Faddis, Donald Byrd, Bob Hope, Wayne Newton, Sammy Davis Jr., and Paul Anka, to name just a few. Johnny is also respected in the industry with his extensive work with the Detroit Musicians Association.

Macaluso 65.6S
The GR 65.6S Trumpet Mouthpiece was originally designed for trumpeter and mechanical engineer Chuck Macaluso . Chuck was graduated with Honor from Stevens Institute of Technology with Mechanical Engineer and Master of Sciences degrees. He was also graduated from the Columbia University Executive Program in Business Administration. He is a registered professional engineer, a patentee, an author of numerous articles and technical papers, an elected Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, and a member of Tau Beta Pi, the engineering honorary society. He is listed in "Who's Who In Finance and Industry". Chuck also leads his own 17 piece Orchestra.
Chuck was also instrumental in the development of the GR Mouthpiece Design Program . |

66Q Series
This has a completely new rim design: the rim is slightly flat, outside diameter follows is tradition in width and contour, highpoint is further out than the standard GR Rim, the bite is medium sharp with the traditional feel and grip, and the alpha is medium for lip freedom, support, and articulation. The bite grip holds the lips from penetrating too far into the cup.
Q* Models have lower Beta Angles for a less edgy "Traditional" sound.
66QM ....Q Rim, GR M Cup. Same alpha angle as GR M Cup. A great all around mouthpiece! #2 Backbore, Classic Blank
66QMX ...Q Rim, GR MX Cup. Same angle as GR MX Cup. More edgy than the Q* Models. #3 Backbore, Classic Blank
66Q* ...Q Rim, similar to GR C* Cup. 1st Cup radius is slightly more open than the C*. #3 Backbore, Symphonic Blank

66C-T and 66B-T
Similar to 67 C-T and 67B-T but with a slightly smaller .660" Cup Diameter
66ES
Similar characteristics to the 64ES and 65ES but with the wider .660" cup diameter.
66X
.660" cup diameter, alpha angle between the L and the LX but with slightly less cup volume.

The GR 66.5 Series Trumpet Mouthpieces were originally designed for trumpeter and educator John Almeida. These mouthpieces became so popular that GR decided to add them to the line.
The GR 66.5 Series Trumpet Mouthpieces are available as a standard order with the GR Almeida rim .
The M cup has a large diameter that features a smaller 1st cup, medium 2nd cup, and a very long and deep throat entrance. This cup has a large volume yet it is very efficient. The sound is rich and brilliant through the range of the horn. This cup is very versatile and allows the player to shade and color the tone.
The MS cup has a medium volume with lots of sizzle and power. It's an excellent choice for any commercial venue. The alpha angle is medium high and the 1 st cup allows for ample lip room.

The Zony Series Trumpet Mouthpieces were originally designed for Trumpeter Mike Zonshine of the Honolulu Symphony. These mouthpieces quickly became very popular with classical trumpeters that GR decided to add them to the standard line.
Mike has studied with Boyde Hood, Roger Voisin, Tom Rolfs of the Boston Symphony, and James Thompson.
He has attended the Tanglewood Music Center and the Eastman School of music.
Mike now holds the Principal Trumpet position with the Honolulu Symphony Orchestra where he has performed Copland's Quiet City, Bach's Second Brandenburg Concerto, and Haydn's Trumpet Concerto.
The GR Zony Series Trumpet Mouthpieces are available as a standard order with the GR Zony rim .
