UK Sterling - our newly launched range of cornet mouthpieces developed exclusively for the British Brass Band cornet player.

GR and Pete Collins have been developing this range of mouthpieces for a number of months and the result is something that every band player should try, to see how much of a difference it can make to their playing.

We have taken as read that all players want to make the best sound possible. We also wanted to make sure that the mouthpieces are as comfortable as possible to play on. UK Sterling mouthpieces have the 'G rim' that can be found in the GR trumpet range, plus specifically tailored cups combined with an open back bore to promote a free blowing and truly "British' cornet sound.

All mouthpieces have comparables within the GR trumpet range - just ask Pete for more details on this.

The sizes currently available are:

UK Sterling 3 (comparable to wick 3B)
UK Sterling 4 (comparable to wick 4B)

- these would make ideal front row mouthpieces, combining great range and flexibility with a well centred sound throughout all registers.

UK Sterling 2XL (comparable to wick 2)
UK Sterling 3XL (comparable to wick 3)
UK Sterling 4XL (comparable to wick 4)

- the 2XL is the perfect 'back row' mouthpiece, with a fat sound and geared up for dipping down easily to the
lower register. The 3XL and 4XL are also great sounding pieces, for the strong player who wants to make the best possible sound.

UK Sterling 3 Soprano

- this has the same rim as the 3 and 3XL but a shallower cup, making it ideal for the soprano cornet.
